Michael J. Miyashiro, M.D., PHARM. D.

Dr. Michael J. Miyashiro is a board-certified ophthalmologist and licensed pharmacist who brings more than two decades of experience in comprehensive eye care to Ocala Eye. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of ocular conditions, providing personalized, compassionate care for patients.

Dr. Miyashiro earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s John A. Burns School of Medicine, where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Before medical school, he completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Creighton University, graduating with honors. While in medical school, he worked as a Pharmacist to pay his way through school. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency and serve as Chief Resident at the University of Texas–Houston, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology.

In addition to his ophthalmology expertise, Dr. Miyashiro has a strong passion for medical aesthetics. He has served as a Medical Director and expert injector for multiple aesthetic practices in Florida and Hawaii, performing treatments such as Botox and dermal filler injections. His background in both medicine and aesthetics allows him to approach each treatment with a deep understanding of facial anatomy and a focus on natural, balanced results that enhance each patient’s confidence.

Dr. Miyashiro believes that aesthetic care is an extension of overall wellness—helping patients look and feel their best inside and out.

Originally from Hawaii, Dr. Miyashiro and his family now reside in Florida, where he enjoys supporting his two sons’ athletic pursuits and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in which he holds a first-degree black belt.
