Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid lift surgery, can be used to correct droopy or sagging eyelids to improve vision function as well as cosmetic appearance. With age the tissues around the eyes can lose their elasticity and cause the eyelids to interfere with the incoming light and its passage through the pupil.

This procedure removes excess skin and fat around the eyes so that the pupil is not obstructed. An added benefit of this surgery is that the face no longer appears tired, drowsy or “old”. Blepharoplasty can also be used in more complicated surgical procedures such as in the removal of cancers around the eye or eyelid area or in restoration and reconstructive procedures.
