We are pleased to announce Vivi Fretland, O.D., has joined the Ocala Eye team and is now seeing patients at our Magnolia and Villages locations.
Dr. Fretland is a board-certified optometric physician who has extensive experience in providing vision care to her patients. She practices comprehensive optometry including:
- Performing eye exams
- Managing eye disease
- Fitting contact lenses
Her areas of interest include diagnosis and treatment of dry eyes, as well as patient education regarding nutrition and ocular health.
Dr. Fretland graduated summa cum laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University in NJ, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston.
As a member of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), she traveled with other Optometry students and clinicians to Quibdo, Colombia to provide vision services to needy and indigent families and children. She completed her optometric training by completing rotations at the Veterans Administration eye clinic in Brighton, MA and at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
