ReZoom™ Lens Implants in Ocala, FL

The ReZoom™ IOL is a premium multifocal lens implant that provides for vision at all distances- far, intermediate and near. Like other presbyopia-correcting lenses such as the ReSTOR® IOL and Crystalens® IOL, the ReZoom™ is an optional lens implant that can be inserted during cataract surgery and is designed to give the recipient independence from glasses for the majority of tasks.

ReZoom™ - A premium multifocal IOL

Similar to the ReSTOR®, the ReZoom™ allows for a complete range of vision by splitting light that enters the eye into several focus points, giving it a “multi-focal” function. There is an adaptation period for multifocal IOLs when your brain trains itself on which image to process. If you wish to focus on close objects, the near focal point image that the ReZoom™ IOL projects onto the retina is accepted by the brain. For far away objects, the distant focal point image is accepted.

The ReZoom™ uses 5 different optical zones to provide vision at a variety of distances. Each zone is illustrated below.

Cataract Surgery Animation
This movie is a general illustration of no-shot, no-stitch, no-patch cataract surgery. The animation shows the cataract being removed with phacoemulsification through a small incision. After the cataract is broken up and vacuumed out of the eye, an intraocular lens is placed inside the eye using the same small incision. The incision seals itself and the cataract surgery is complete. (no audio)

ReZoom™ and Medicare

Recent Medicare changes now qualify a portion of the ReZoom™ procedure for cataract coverage. This leaves a residual out of pocket cost that you would pay for the near vision correction features of the ReZoom™. Ocala Eye features payment plans that make the ReZoom™ a viable choice for your lens replacement surgery. In addition you will receive an entire year of follow up care which includes vision enhancement such as LASIK or CK® if deemed necessary by your Ocala Eye physician to fine tune your vision.

Cataract Options - Which one is right for me?

Cataract surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures in the United States. This certainly holds true with the Ocala Eye Surgery Center where we perform thousands of these operations every year. While the majority of cataract surgery patients who opt for standard monofocal (fixed-distance) intraocular lens implants (IOLs) can see distant objects very clearly after their procedure, this usually means a new glasses prescription is needed for seeing near objects. The ReZoom™, Crystalens® and ReSTOR® were designed with a specific patient in mind - one may be a better choice for you than the other when you and your ophthalmologist consider lifestyle, medical history, and your individual eye physiology.

“I’ve spent over 24 years in the Marine Corps and have had glasses since high School. My vision was progressively getting worse each year until I could no longer read large signs or even distinguish different faces from across the room. A friend of mine recommended Ocala Eye for vision correction. The more people I talked to, the more people recommended Ocala Eye.

“Upon my first visit I received the most professional care and thorough eye exam. It was determined that I had some astigmatism and the beginning of cataracts. My doctor reviewed the options for correcting my vision and I chose the ReZoom implant.

“It’s been a couple of months since my procedure and I am ecstatic. I can read without glasses and drive without restrictions. You can’t imagine the difference in my eyesight before and after the procedure. I’d recommend anyone to see Ocala Eye.”
